ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
Irvine Nature Center is a non-profit educational organization that offers programs of environmental studies and natural science to children and adults of the greater Baltimore area. Our mission is to educate and inspire current and future generations to explore, respect and protect nature. Located on 211-acres in Owings Mills, Maryland, Irvine serves families in The Nature Preschool, Earth Friends Outdoors Homeschool, and hundreds of school groups with fieldtrips and in-school events. In addition to its educational programming, Irvine has an interactive exhibit hall and hiking trails and is available for special event rentals.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: Environmental Educators at Irvine Nature Center inspire learners of all ages during Summer Nature Camp, field trips, school groups, community outreach and public programs – all furthering the mission of Irvine Nature Center.
OPERATIONS + ADMINISTRATION: Join the team that keeps Irvine running. There are multiple opportunities in administration, land maintenance, and visitor services, that are all critical to the mission of Irvine Nature Center.
RENTALS + EVENTS: Irvine Nature Center welcomes private events such as weddings, parties and corporate events. In conjunction with the Rental Coordinator, open positions include oversight and coordination of all rentals at the Center, including weddings, corporate gatherings, mitzvahs, birthday parties and other special events.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
(PART-TIME)
The Eco-Explorers After-School Nature Club operates in the afternoon at elementary schools in the region. We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and organized individual to prepare for and lead hands-on, outdoor environmental education for after-school programs, with elementary aged children. This position will be responsible for the supervision of program volunteers and interns.
DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT
(FULL-TIME)
Irvine Nature Center seeks a strategic, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented Director of Advancement to lead all fundraising, marketing, communications, and revenue-generation efforts for the organization.
As a key member of Irvine’s leadership team, the Director of Advancement will develop and execute an integrated advancement strategy focused on increasing contributed and earned revenue, expanding community engagement, elevating organizational visibility, and strengthening Irvine’s long-term sustainability and impact.
EARTH FRIENDS HOMESCHOOL
(PART-TIME)
We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and organized individual to join our team of educators as an Early Childhood Educator in our Earth Friends Homeschool program. Responsibilities include planning for onsite outdoors homeschool classes for children 8-12 years old. While the homeschool is anchored by environmental education principals there is a great deal of approaching learning through play and exploration. This individual will work in a variety of roles alternating between assisting, co-teaching, and leading.

We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and organized individual to join our team of educators as an Early Childhood Educator in our Earth Friends Homeschool program. PROGRAM NATURALIST
(PART-TIME)
Irvine’s Program Naturalist is a newly created part-time position within the Environmental Education department. We are seeking an environmental educator specifically to run various public programs throughout the week, evenings, and weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday). This includes leading occasional overnight campouts for school and other groups. This part-time position of approximately 8-15 hours per week will report to Irvine’s Manager of Public Programs.
